Painted eggs minions or how we paint petite eggs. That's what today's post is called. It's true that maybe an article about how to paint Easter eggs as naturally as possible, or the most authentic recipe for painting eggs from Burebista's aunt would have been much more attractive. But, bad luck! I don't have that. We did not cook at home, we did not keep the recipe and I do not have any museographer in the family. So now I offer you a fun and funny idea on how to have fun one day with your friends. I didn't have this idea, but Miruna. He saw a video on the net showing someone painting eggs in minion and said & # 8222let's do it too, mom& # 8222. So we did yesterday. She did almost all the work, that is, the part with painting and decorating the eggs. Even on the shooting side, when I told her that I couldn't figure out how to make those eggs look cool in the pictures, she was also the one who saved the situation. Said: Well, it's simple, Mom. We need some kind of basket, a basket of eggs, if we don't have something like that. And I have a bunny, it's just that it's not extra, it's made of paper, that's what I made in kindergarten. So today's post is about her joy and the work she put in with great pleasure. Okay, he ate eggs after that :)))

Then Miruna went on to decorate. She glued her eyes, drew them with the marker, exactly as she wanted. I didn't interfere, I didn't insist, I didn't want there to be straight and perfect lines at all. Everything she made, with her adorable gloves.

As I told you: it's not a recipe :)) it's an idea and fun. And I think it's worth praising her!


Several shades of the same color on a single egg

If you prefer to get more shades of the same color on one egg, things are even simpler. In a glass pour the 2 tablespoons of vinegar and all the paint. Dip the egg in the glass and wait 40-50 seconds, then add 1-2 tablespoons of water. Wait the same amount of time again and add a little more water, continuing until the egg is completely covered. Bake 2 biscuit tops of 10 eggs each in a round shape (with a diameter of 26 cm). We cut each countertop in half after cooling. We leave one of the countertops round the other, we cut it as in the image below, thus obtaining the bunny's ears and bow.

When the cream is cooled, it has the consistency of a thicker cream. I put the mixer in the cream and mix it at high speed. Beat the remaining 300 ml of whipped cream and then gradually add it to the cream that you mix next. From the cream we take 6 tablespoons separately and we will use it to decorate.

Put 5 tablespoons of caramelized sugar then add about 500 ml of water over it and leave it on the fire until the sugar melts. Add 1 ampoule of rum essence when the syrup is cold. With this syrup we will syrup the biscuit tops.

As I said, we cut the countertops in half. We place a part on the tray where the cake is to be assembled and we syrup it well. Put a row of cream on top, then cover with the top that comes again in syrup. We do the same with the ears and the bow.

We put the biscuit pieces on the outside filled with a thin layer of cream and we start to prepare the marshmallow foundation with which we will cover the cake pieces.

Grease a bowl well with a frame, place marsmallows in it, add 2 tablespoons of water and put the dish in the microwave until the marshmallows melt (I put it four times 30 seconds, but this time also depends on the power of the oven as it heats up).

Be careful to melt in a larger bowl because this marshmallows swell a lot. After it is melted, add the 900 gr of powdered sugar to it and mix well with a spoon until all the sugar is incorporated (it is very sticky).

When the paste is homogeneous, powder a foil or a bag with a little starch and leave it to cool for at least 2 hours. I covered the cake with this fondant. Spread lightly on the table sprinkled with starch. You can color the bow, eyes, & # 8230. As you like, by adding dyes.

With this fondant I covered the pieces filled with cream, then I placed them on a tray and I also made the rabbit's eyes and mustache from the fondant.

I know that now we are always looking for ways to paint eggs naturally, but for me these are childhood eggs, painted in many smoky colors and placed in baskets. I remember that on our Easter table there were always baskets of eggs painted in all colors. I was fascinated by them and I could hardly wait for Easter morning to go out at the gate and collide with my neighbors.

In addition to eggs, we always took a few slices of my mother's brilliant cake, and after beating eggs, we sat on the sidewalk and ate boiled eggs with sweet bread. I learned from childhood how to paint Easter eggs. I was always with my mother or grandmother when they painted eggs and I remember that the paint on my hands didn't last for days, but it was worth it. To paint eggs properly, you must first wash the eggs. Wash them with warm water and dishwashing detergent and insist on dirty portions. It is very important not to skip this step because the eggs must be degreased. If they are not degreased properly, the eggs will not be painted evenly.

Then put the eggs in cold water and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Boil eggs over low heat to prevent them from breaking. To see if the eggs are ready you can try one, possibly one that cracked during cooking. My grandmother boiled them in a cauldron over a wood fire. He lets them boil slowly and very rarely an egg is broken. Then let the eggs cool enough to handle them and take care of the paint solution. For this tutorial I used Carmin egg paint from Dr. Oetker available in 5 different shades. I painted eggs in each color, but you can choose your favorite shades.

After we have painted our paint, we dip boiled eggs and let them sit until we get our favorite shades. If you want the eggs to have lighter shades, leave them less, and if you want the shades to be more pigmented, leave them longer. Then remove them and let them dry. According to your preference, you can grease them with a little oil, in order to get a beautiful shine. Usually I had the task of greasing eggs with oil and I also put them in baskets. I always painted a lot of eggs and all the time in 2, maximum 3 days almost all of them were broken. Dough preparation: mix all the ingredients together in a deep container, until you get a greasy and slightly fluid paste. Let the crust rest for half an hour.

Baking: With a small saucepan, especially for pancakes, pour the dough into a Teflon pan (non-stick), greased and preheated. On medium heat, let the pancake bake (which must be quite thick) on one side, until the dough makes dozens of holes (it is very important, because this is the peculiarity of Moroccan pancakes).

Take the pancake off the heat, place it on a plate, grease it with butter, and repeat the same operation for the following pancakes. You can serve the pancakes with sugar or jam, they are delicious! .

How to prepare eggs for painting

Preparing for boiling

Because Easter is a celebration of traditions, it starts with a technique proven by grandparents. Check if the eggs are old or fresh, dipping them in a bowl of water. The old ones will rise to the surface, and the fresh ones will sink. It is said that it is good to keep the egg 2-3 days before boiling, to easily peel. Fresh eggs, cooked the same day, can become sticky and difficult to clean.
The main cause of breaking eggs during cooking is temperature them. It is good to take them out of the fridge the night before, to reach room temperature until morning.

Clean the eggs with warm water and detergent . You can use laundry or dishwashing detergent. Wash them with a sponge and then rinse them with water and vinegar so that no traces of detergent remain and so that the color sticks as evenly as possible.

Then place them in horizontal position in a bowl of water, to choose the air bubble on the edge, and not at the ends. Thus, you will amaze all your guests at the egg collision contest.

After removing the inside, you must wash the egg well. Approach the same technique used initially, or place the egg in a glass of water and then position it under the cold water jet, making sure that the water flows halfway through the hole created, so that the other half allows air to escape.


In the evening, wash the onion leaves very well and put them in two separate dishes, in about 2 l of water each. Boil about 5 minutes after the water has boiled, turn off the heat and cover the dishes with a lid. Leave it like that until the next day.


On Maundy Thursday (because this is the custom) wash eggs with water and a little detergent, let them dry or wipe with a towel and fix a leaf on them (you can moisten the leaf with water if not otherwise) . Put a piece of tame over the leaf and tie on the opposite side of the egg.


After finishing this procedure, remove the onion leaves from the dishes, leaving only a few to fit the eggs.


Place eggs in pots, and the rest of the onion leaves are placed on top of them (the ones I kept in pots). Add a tablespoon of coarse salt to each bowl, then five tablespoons of vinegar. Boil eggs for about 5 minutes after the water has boiled, turn off the heat and leave for another 10 minutes in that water. Carefully remove them with a wooden spoon and place them on a newspaper tray. Allow to simmer a little, remove the onion leaves, if necessary, and tame the leaves. Allow to dry, then grease the eggs with a cloth soaked in oil.
