Do you have a craving for pizza and can't wait to bake it in the oven? Nothing easier.

Heat a frying pan (I ... the tuci pot) in which you place the top prepared as follows:

In a bowl put flour in which you make a hole. Put the lightly kneaded yeast with the sugar, half of the hot water and the oil inside.

Leave for 10 minutes then add the rest of the water and knead well. You should get an elastic, non-sticky dough so add, as appropriate, hot water or flour, if necessary. Add salt and mix well.

Leave it to warm for at least an hour, then divide the dough into 5 and spread (by hand) the pizza tops.

Place the top in the hot pan, turn the heat to low and put the lid on the pan.

Leave for 4 minutes (I left 5), then turn, grease the top with tomato juice mixed with thyme and crushed garlic cloves, sprinkle cheese, chicken sausage, olives and oregano and put the lid again.

Leave for another 5 minutes and you're done.

Biting Into Pizza That Costs Just Eight Bits

Gray’s Papaya, which has long lured New Yorkers with cheap hot dogs, recently ventured into a new arena: $ 1 slices of pizza.

"If you're hungry or broke or just in a hurry," proclaims the banners outside its downtown store, one of two Gray's location but the only one selling pizza.

In a city where few things come cheap, the quintessential New York slice is one thing that seems to just keep getting cheaper. There are roughly two dozen pizza shops or eateries selling slices costing a buck or less — or cheaper than most cups of coffee. There is at least one — Ray’s Pizza on Broadway between 54th and 55th streets — that started selling 75-cent slices in January as a temporary promotion and never stopped. Ray’s management say it began the promotion to survive the competition from a 99-cent Fresh Pizza that opened across the street from it.

The psychological allure of $ 1 food extends beyond the slice. There is a Pop’s Dollar Food Shop near Penn Station that opened a few months ago that sells slices, hamburgers, hot dogs and French fries for $ 1 each. And Kashmir Grill, an Indian restaurant on 8th Avenue, sells $ 1 burgers.

"It's cheap, so it's not a big profit-maker," said Gray's Papaya owner Nicholas Gray, of his $ 1 slices. "But we want to get the people in, and I think we're getting new customers." Mr. Gray estimated that the downtown store sold about 800 slices a day the first week.

Recipe for Thai Chicken Flatbread Pizza

This Thai Chicken Flatbread Pizza from Trish & # 8217s book was super easy to make and a hit with the family. I added a kick of heat to the savory peanut sauce and it was amazing paired with the gooey mozzarella, shredded carrots, bell peppers and green onions.

We always top our pizzas with some fresh pineapple whenever we can and I also like to throw in some baby spinach for a dose of greens.

Bake about 10 minutes until golden bubbly then garnish with cilantro, and crushed peanuts.

Like all of the recipes in this cookbook, this flatbread pizza is quick and easy to prepare, which is perfect for any busy family.

I can’t wait to cook my way through this book, it & # 8217s already got a permanent place in the kitchen.
